In this article I make a comparative analysis of two of the most prominent thinkers that belonged to the developmental thinking in the 50’s : Helio Jaguaribe e Nelson Werneck Sodré. Their writings were published ISEB, an institution which elaborated the nationalistic ideology known as the fundamental support for the surpassing of underdevelopment. It is not our goal to examine the thought underlying ISEB . I think that the choice of these two important authors – Jaguaribe and Werneck – allows us to revise some of the interpretations of the modern propositions of ISEB and yet the diversity of parameters which direct their/its notion of duality and Brazilian revolution. <b>Keywords:</b> Nationalism. Neste artigo faço uma análise comparativa de dois expoentes do pensamento desenvolvimentista dos anos 50: Hélio Jaguaribe e Nelson Werneck Sodré. A produção desses dois autores foi veiculada através do ISEB, instituição que elaborou a ideologia nacionalista, tida como suporte fundamental para a superação do subdesenvolvimento. Não é objetivo deste trabalho examinar o pensamento isebiano como um todo. Creio que a seleção de dois autores singulares - Hélio Jaguaribe e Nelson Werneck Sodré - permite revisar algumas interpretações sobre as propostas isebianas de modernização e, ainda, a diversidade de parâmetros que norteiam suas noções de dualidade e revolução brasileira. <b>Palavras-chave:</b> Nacionalismo.
